Travel Hockey
Salisbury Youth Hockey (SYH) is a nonprofit youth hockey association that has been teaching children to play ice hockey for more than 30 years. Located in the Berkshire hills of northwestern CT, SYH was started and continues to be run by local residents who have a love for the game and the children who play it. The mission of SYH is to promote the development of our children both as hockey players and as people by establishing a safe, supportive and fun environment in the context of an instructional and competitive hockey program.
Ages
Appropriate players at least 7 years old who have completed at least one year of Learn-to-Play.
When
Our season begins in October and runs until March.
Where
Practices are held at Salisbury School, our home rink. Games are played across the region on Saturdays and Sundays.
Practices
Team practice is generally 2-3 times per week.
Games
Teams typically play 2 games a week which fall on the weekend.
Jerseys
Jerseys can be purchased during the registration process.
Extra Costs
Tournaments will be an additional fee.
Equipment
Players need their own full equipment. This includes hockey helmet, neck guard, mouth guard, gloves, elbow, shin, and shoulder pads, pants, and skates.
